Digestion after a meal

Digestion time varies from one person to another. After eating it takes 6-8 hours for food to get digested and the nutrients to get absorbed. For better digestion :(to maintain a healthy digestive system)

  • Eat freshly prepared food which is real
  • Take plenty of Fiber which is very helpful in digestion
  • Stay hydrated- keep hydrating your body by having sips of warm water or herbal tea with ginger and honey.
  • Note :Cold water or cold drink slows down the digestion process
  • Chew your food well
  • Add healthy fats to your diet paired up with high fiber foods which will improve digestion
  • Intake of pro-biotics on a daily basis not only enhances the nutrition absorption but also strengthens your immune system.
  • Have a time schedule for your meals and snack and stick on to it
  • Exercise regularly to keep your bowels active thereby prevent constipation
  • Eat when you are hungry.
  • Skip smoking, excessive caffeine, alcohol which can interfere with digestive process and cause ulcers and heart burns.
